My group was supposed to use technology to tape and post a story.
We had a story.
We taped it.
We were unable to post it.
So, once again in the world of Journalism I am left annoyed.

Oh, Benny!
Theme: Sleepiness
Quotes: "You go slowly insane." "You see things that aren't there."
Anecdote: While Benny was competing he noticed his son playing catch with a friend. At one point everything was in slow motion. Instead of one baseball it looked as if there were a thousand streaming into the glove.
Theme: Comradery
Quote:"If it comes down to you and me I will lift my hand. You need it more than me."
Anecdote: Benny promised a young competitor that if if came down to the two of them he would let the young man win because he needed it more. The young man walked away during his break and never came back.
Theme: Mind Games
Quote: "You start to mess with each others head."
Anecdote: Benny would say that his feet were sore. Then a competitior would say that he was just fine, that he couldn't feel anything. Then Benny would explain that that was a bad thing. That meant that they had gone numb. Netxt thing you know that person is out of the competition.

My Unhealthy (Media) Diet... not that my real one is much better.
My diet consists of Twitter, YouTube, Perez Hilton, Yahoo Mail, my college’s website- MySju, and my favorite food if you will, Facebook.
I love all of these sites. And if this media diet were a real diet, I would be categorized as obese.
Facebook is my life. It is a fixture on my computer screen that is always there. It is one of the main tabs that I am constantly clicking and refreshing.
My Mac Book even knows I am addicted to facebook. Each time I open Safari there it is staring back at me on the most visited sites screen.
Facebook isn’t alone on that screen.
It is accompanied by my new obsession Twitter.
I love the Internet. I honestly don’t know if I could survive a media famine. Here’s hoping that never happens!

Doctor, Journalist or Scene Stealer? You be the judge.
Medical correspondents are leaving lasting impressions on American viewers. Most are able to juggle being both a doctor and a journalist.
Some, like Dr. Sanjay Gupta, however find this difficult. Gupta, a correspondent for CNN, recently performed surgery on a young Haitian patient, on air. Innocent enough. Except for the fact that he would only perform the surgery if he were filmed. Gupta took a story about a victim and turned it into a story about himself. It’s not that he should not of saved the patient it’s just that he could have handled the situation more ethically.
Luckily not all Dr./Journalists live by the same moral compass. For example, Dr. Nancy Snyderman is able to share what she has seen in Haiti and help victims without making the story about her. As seen here, Snyderman describes the horrors she has seen without turning the story around to be about herself.
Synderman knows that the world is watching and when, even, her ethics were questioned she replied, “I guess the best thing I could ask of the critics is come here and walk in my shoes for a day and tell me if you would walk by somebody who has a bone sticking out of his arm," Snyderman told Howard Kurtz on CNN's Reliable Sources. "If you would walk by it, then I guess we're just different people."
Perhaps Dr. Gupta is one of those “different” people but he might have a more dramatic response in front of a camera.

Not so serious.
Howdy!!
My name is Tapanga, at least it is online.
I am extremely positive, outgoing, friendly, fun, and slightly off my rocker.
I do not think however that those traits will be coming across in this blog.
I'm a big girl now and it is time to be serious.
If for some reason you do want to see my silly side head on over to my other blog, Ta-Ta-Ta-Tapanga Malanga.
Before I act all grown up and what not let me leave you with this...
I think after viewing this you can agree with the "off my rocker" claim.
